Parkside, Maidenhead
We were instructed by the clients who owned this detached property on the outskirts of Maidenhead through a recommendation from a previous customer.
The project consisted of erecting a single storey rear and side extension as well as converting the existing garage into a habitable living space. This allowed for the provision of a new open plan kitchen, utility room, well-proportioned study and guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
Owing to Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) being in place, the foundations of the extension needed to be piled to a total depth of 6 metres to allow sufficient space for tree roots to pass through without damage. Once a block and beam floor slab was constructed, the entire downstairs area was fitted with a wet pipe underfloor heating system and the floor space levelled with a traditional sand and cement screed. An anti-crack mat was subsequently laid on top to provide a secure base to accept porcelain wood-effect tiles throughout.
All woodwork and carpentry i.e. doors, architrave and skirting was installed and these as well as the entire downstairs were professionally decorated using Farrow and Ball paints selected by the designers.
Once the decorating was complete, a designer kitchen company were instructed to and worked closely with us to fully fit the kitchen and stone worktops. All appliances were also fitted at the same time and were Wifi-enabled to allow full connectivity throughout the house.
